Hi,

Along with my Firewall quest, I have come across another gem of a Linux program K3b.. excellent, even better than my old Nero from XP.

However I am trying to install the newest Mandrake rpm using the rpm -i filename in a console as root

then it gives me this

error: Failed dependencies:
devel(libart_lgpl_2) is needed by k3b-0.11.4-db
devel(libaudio) is needed by k3b-0.11.4-db

devel(libXt) is needed by k3b-0.11.4-db
devel(libz) is needed by k3b-0.11.4-db

Does anybody know what I need to install and where to get it from, I have seen some k3b dependency rpm's but it says they are for Debian...??

Please can somebody help with this... I am still quite a newb and anytime I get stuff like this, even with looking on the net for answers I normally get very bafled.

Cheers Guys

Hi,

not sure but, http://apt.freshrpms.net/ downloading yum or apt-get

and then apt-get update

or yum update

then apt-get dist-upgrade

or yum dist-upgrade

might fix you're dependency problems...

but I'm really not sure if it would work with Mandrake...

or you can try this http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/

Sincerely
Robert B

For Mandrake, the update program for doing updates is urmpi.

See this thread (here is a list of 9.2 mirrors) for installing urpmi sources. (and I would update everything via that thread as well)

Then do:

urpmi k3b
