it's OK ....

a terminal is a console (text) based window in X ... or a login in the console that allows for a command line interface. When using a terminal, you can load one of several shells (like csh, bash, sh, ksh). The differences in these shells are basically the language that they understand (cshell (csh) is based on the "c" programming language, sh was the original Borne shell, ksh is the Korn Shell (which is an extended version of sh), Borne Again Shell (bash) is another extended version of sh, and bash is the default shell in most linux distros and BSD distros.
