I have a linux computer connected over an ethernet network to a windows computer, which is connected to the Internet. At first, the netwrok ran without a hitch, no problems at all. Then, the internet connetion didn't work, but i could still use smbclient to share files. Now, nothing works, I can't even ping the other computer, it says network not detected. How do i fix this?

check your ip address first.

Check your subnet mask second.

Then check your cable.

Then turn off the firewall that you added to the windows box (guessing, but this does cause problems)
