Well, I have the nvidia chipset, so I went to the nvidia site.

I did make and make install... and no problems! *shocked*

Now, do I need to recompile/patch the kernel? Or is everything good now?

You now have all the required modules ... you should be ok if your network and sound is working, you are good, if not, you might need to put the proper modules in /etc/modules to get them to load on startup.
