What is the difference between a hard link and a soft link? If bash brings you to /usr after hitting cd .. in /usr/spool (supposedly a soft link to /var/spool), then it seems there is no difference. Of course, this is specific to bash, so is it that the differentiation is part of earlier shells? Thanks.
