I have Redhat 9 & VFSTPd. I have access set up fine from remotes, but I cannot set up privs for the user to chmod files. VFSTPd documentation sez:
CODE
enable_chmod=YES

Doing this halts all access from remote stations.

Here is my vsftpd.conf file (access works/no chmod privs):
CODE
anonymous_enable=NO
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
local_umask=022
anon_upload_enable=YES
dirmessage_enable=YES
xferlog_enable=YES
connect_from_port_20=YES
xferlog_std_format=YES
ftpd_banner=Welcome to you FTP service.
chroot_local_user=YES
pam_service_name=vsftpd
userlist_enable=YES
listen=YES
tcp_wrappers=YES
