My friend told me it was impossible to configure this for linux. Is that true?
Specs (reported by winDoze, where it works): Codec-- DMA 1 IRQ 5 I/O 388 534 220 Control Reg. i/o 0120-0127 MPU 401 IRQ 9 I/o 330 umm, I thought IRQ 9 is the video card cascaded or somethun but this works for windoze so that can't be it.

because there are several different Crystal chips and each has a seperate driver ... not only that, but the sound card also contains midi ... and there are many different midi / crystal combos as well...

I can't find anything either...
I got it as a bonus for a job I did so I don't have any of the docs or anything. I can't find anything on the motherboard either, except made in the USA (hmm... ) and a sticker on it that says: PSGV8110617 Compaq/Packard Bell got no info on it like it's their long lost bastard child  Thanks for trying anyhoo, you can probably search faster then me since my connection is always less then 1K.

I switched to Vector Linux, it has support for it. It was Crystal Audio WSS/SB btw in case anyone else ever has this problem
