I am looking for a version of iostat that will work with the 2.4 kernel.

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/
is the sysstat homepage.

There are a number of versions of sysstat available in random places. You can find it for debian but not for redhat. I have tried installing different versions of sysstat 5.x.x and sysstat 4.x.x but was only able to find a bad source rpm for sysstat 3.x.x which I was unable to test. Can someone point me to a sysstat 3.x.x rpm, install, or a version that will work with a 2.4 redhat kernel?

You didn't post your version of RH (2.4 kernel is in 7.3, 8 and 9) ... but since there are different versions of glibc, you should use the sysstat for your version of RH...

It's on the original CD's for RedHat, (usually CD-3) ...

For RH 9, stick in CD-3 ... mount it (if required) and issue this command:

rpm -Uvh /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/sysstat-4.0.7-3.i386.rpm

you can also download the RedHat 9 (version sysstat-4.0.7-3.i386.rpm) Here
------------------------
RedHat 8 (version sysstat-4.0.5-3.i386.rpm) Here
-----------------------
RedHat 7.3 (version sysstat-4.0.3-2.i386.rpm) Here
