Hi Guys, yes I am a life long Microsoft user but have had enough of their prices! As well as the spiders web they call 'licensing' smile.gif

I am starting up a small web design company and I want to host the sites myself. I have all the hardware and the connection, but I am now trying to find a suitable OS.

I am new to Linux so that's why I am asking advice, I need a decent free OS thats capable of running as a web server and that I can use legally.

Any help appreciated guys!

Cheers.

If you have good hardware (p4/Athlon XP, at least 256mb RAM, 20gb drive) then any version of Linux will work with Apache, MySQL and PHP.

Mandrake 9.2 or Whitebox Enterprise Linux if you want GUI ....

In a couple months, UserLinux and centos-3 will be good choices.
