Has anyone gotten their Radeon 9800Pro card to work PROPERLY with Linux?

I downloaded the driver, got an error, recompiled the kernel to support the new driver, but still I don't have any 3D acceleration, I'm only getting about 1FPS in Tux Racer!

I've formatted the drive and re-installed Mandrake, hopefully someone can give me an idiots guide to installing drivers! smile.gif

Is THIS where you downloaded the driver from? You want the 4.3.0 version.

Here is the readme for that file.

What steps in the readme are you haveing problems with?

Specifically, look at section 2.4 of the readme ... dealing with 3D performance....
