Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

I have an internal hardware modem (NetComm IN5710)
recomended to me for Linux, But there is no /dev/ttyS2 detected (the modem is on com3 in windows).
so when I use the recomended configuration script:

setserial /dev/ttyS2 port 0xXXXX irq YY uart 16550A

XXXX = IO Address of card
YY = irq of card

it doesnt work?

Does anyone know how to get linux to see this serial port?
