I have Redhat 9.0, and i have no sound whatsoever. I have two choices of soud; Intel integrated sound from a dell intel motherboard or a Sound Blaster Live sound card. I get error messages including

Sound server warning message:
Can't set real-time scheduling priority.
You need to run artswrapper as root or
setuid root. This means that you will
likely not be able to produce acceptable
sound (i.e. without clicks and breaks).

and

Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

If anyone could ne of any assistance it would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Thank You,
Peter

I have the same problem in Red Hat 7.3. Using a YAMAHA OPL-SaX3 card.

And in my Red Hat 9, whenever I try to listen to midi it sais something like "/dev/sequencer can't be opened (or is busy with another application)"
