Hey there...

I am not able to install Mandrake 9.2 on my brandnew system (no OS has ever been installed on it). Even though I can start the installation by booting from cd the whole things stops after a while and says it can't access the cd. The kernel-msg says hdc:lost interrupt and then starts an Atapi reset which doesn't seem to help cause lost interrupt returns right after it. The lattest message in the logs says have to insmod isofs and then succeeded isofs and that's where it stops.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do about this?

sounds like a problem with the installer and the IDE controller chipset ...

You should make sure you have the latest BIOS from the motherboard's website.

What is the motherboard (or PC for a prebuilt system like Dell, Compaq, HP, etc.) manufacturer and model.
