Ok,

I am trying to compile kernel 2.6.0 following all instructions. getting warning about som module-init-tool and downloaded and rpm and get this when tring to install it. Can anyone help me, man do I need help.

rpm -i modutils-2.4.21-22.src.rpm
warning: user rusty does not exist - using root
warning: group rusty does not exist - using root
warning: user rusty does not exist - using root
warning: group rusty does not exist - using root
warning: user rusty does not exist - using root
warning: group rusty does not exist - using root


I though rusty was me on using linux. LOL OK help please

you downloaded the Source rpm (which would let you make a binary rpm) ... which is probably not what you want.

Try looking for an rpm from the same place without the src.
