Like the topic says, how do I execute a bin FILE (in this case realplayer plugin)

obviously new to linux

For realplayer, in order to install, you need to make it executable with the following command:

QUOTE
# chmod +x rp8.whatever.bin
# ./rp8.whatever.bin


chmod = Allows you to CHange MODe of the file, +x makes it executable.
