Earlier today, Linus Torvalds announced the availability of the newest stable kernel tree, 2.6.0. There are numerous updates, fixes, and additions to this latest kernel tree.
There is an enormous amount of information out there, so I will try and break some of it down. Here is an upgrade guide from kerneltrap.org on moving from 2.4 to 2.6. This should prove helpfull to new users who are thinking about upgrading. Here is Dave Jone's post halloween document to help summarize some of the major changes between 2.4 and 2.6. Download links: Bittorrent - If you don't know what bittorrent is, i suggest you check it out, it is an amazing download tool that will reduce the wait for downloads, and increase speeds. Click here for a list of ftp and http mirrors for download. For the most part, you should be able to hit your local mirror with: ftp://ftp.(countrycode).kernel.org/pub/li...x-2.6.0.tar.bz2 Enjoy! -------------------- Corey Quilliam
