I'm running a Redhat Linux 8.0 server with apache2 and PHP4; I compiled apache2 and PHP from their sources using the following options.

I installed PHP4 as a DSO and made the necessary changes to apache's httpd.conf.

Everything works fine when using the servers FQDN, but when I try to access a php-page using the servers IP, the php-page isn't processed and served as a download for my browser.

Hope someone can help,

Thanx in advance,

ash

I installed apache and php from the source, not using any packages.

apache was compiled using the following options:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 --enable-module=so

and php using:

./configure --with-mysql --with-apsx=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apsx

I'm going to try apache 1.3.27 this weekend, see if that version works ok. (read a lot about apache2 not being stable when using php4 sad.gif )
