I'm running a Redhat Linux 8.0 server with apache2 and PHP4; I compiled apache2 and PHP from their sources using the following options.

I installed PHP4 as a DSO and made the necessary changes to apache's httpd.conf.

Everything works fine when using the servers FQDN, but when I try to access a php-page using the servers IP, the php-page isn't processed and served as a download for my browser.

Hope someone can help,

Thanx in advance,

ash

first before you post it here
find where the line you added , or if the it was automatically added, the line that parses php pages

for example
the 1.3.X version the line is something like this
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

it might be the same in the newer 2.X series...

try added the line below posted below...restart your server and try to connect using the IP address and see what happens

AddType application/x-httpd-phps .phps

if you already have the line above ....the post your conf file and ill take
a look at it
