Could some answer these questions please? I'm a newbie.
1. How do you run a program in the 'background'? 2. If you have something in the background, how do you bring it forward? Do you send it back to background the same way? 3. I guess background is a 'process'. Are there more? What would they be called so I can learn more about them? 4. What is something called 'granddaddy' process? Sound weird...lol. |

to put something in the background you use the "&" for example
for example to start mozilla in the background you would type at the command prompt: mozilla & i think there is a way to bring it back to the forground...i remember something when i took a unix course in college but i could be wrong never heard of a granddaddy process though... -------------------- Chris W. |
