Hey, I'm having a problem with sound on my Slack 9.1 system (with the Alsa sound driver) where I don't have any sound in my account (non root), but it works fine in root with no tweaking whatsoever (in fact I'm listening to a CD right now... Fountains of Wayne... awesome band....). Any idea why this would happen? All else that I can add to maybe give a hint is that the only tweak I have made on my account is that I have altered it's cd player plugin so that it will read from my second drive. If anybody has any ideas why this would happen it would be helpful. Thanks,
eric

ps. Sound does work in my account, because I heard KDE's exit sound when I logged out to get into root.
