how can i install a file that is INSTALL ? and i have 2 hard drives and i dont know if it know about it

An install file is simply a document on how to install the program, use a text editor like pico to read it. It's not like windows where there is simply a setup executable, u will probably have to compile before installing.
But try: "pico INSTALL" and see how it goes.

i need to install it. how do i compile it and install it. and what about my hard drive

What are you trying to install? usually:
./compile
make
make install

will work....

But as i say, read the INSTALL file

im trying to install srvx.1.2 fo irc and some other programs
