The program starts ok but when i go to play an mpeg file a warning comes up from rp that i dont have autoupdate privalege and the program shuts down. i deleted all files and retried installing under root but i have the same problem. Even when i run the program from a root konquerer session. any suggestions?

There are lots of bugs with the RealOne player for Linux ... I don't install it one any of my boxes anymore.

You can instead get the RV9 codecs and install them with realplayer 8 ... much fewer problems ... at least that's what i do...

You can download RealPlayer 8 and the RealVideo 9 codecs from here:
