Ok I am kinda new to all of this so bear with me.

I downloaded acrobat reader today and after unzipping it the readme said to just run the install script. So I am wondering how to run it?

Thanks,

the humble fool

I have never installed acrobat reader, so i'm going blind here.

If the instal file is named "install.sh" or something like that, you can issue the command:

QUOTE
user@host:# ./install.sh

That is (dot-slash-install.sh). This may need to be done as root.

I just downloaded the file ... it an 8.9 mb file called linux-508.tar.gz

(you should create a directory to contain the tar file ... I recommend /usr/src/adobereader...then copy the file there, then untar it, then install it...)

as root (from the directory where you downloaded the file to) do this (each line is a seperate command):

mkdir /usr/src/adobereader
cp linux-508.tar.gz /usr/src/adobereader/
cd /usr/src/adobereader/
tar -xvzf linux-508.tar.gz
./INSTALL
