Hello all,
I'm a newbie in Linux and therefore i had lot's of troubles when trying to learn smth.
Anyway, in my laptop i had 2 OS isntalled, Win XP Pro and Red Hat 9.

Today, with Partition Magic (on XP), i deleted Linux partitions and created another
Fat32 partition. After Partition Magic did the tasks, everything worked fine until i
did a reboot.

Now, Grub tries to open but nothing happen (i deleted Linux partitions) this is what i get:

Grub version 0.93
[Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completion.
Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a device/filename.]

I want my laptop starting up with winxp now, how can i remove Grub??
Or what should i do, if there is anything i can do...

Thanks for your time,
Helder

Boot using your Windows XP CD and use the repair console (Instructions)

After you are in the repair console, use the fixmbr command as detailed HERE.

hughesjr,
thanks for your reply, that didn't help me because i couldn't
boot with my XP cd, i don't know why.

So, i reinstalled Red Had, this way Grub works fine and i can
choose to start up with XP.

But now, hoe can i delete Linux (and partitions) and stop grubing
from loading???

Just start normally on win?

Or can i find grub on c:? do i delete it?

You must either use an XP CD (and use fixmbr) or use a Windows 98/ME boot disk and use fdisk and mark the unmark, them remark the boot partition as active.

I went to Microsoft and downloaded Win XP Boot Diskettes Set, but didn't
tried yet, i'm sure it will work, that way i can use fixmbr.
