Hello,

I'm new to linux. I just finished installing Slackware 9.0. Everything went very well, except that I am having some trouble logging in. I installed the KDE GUI, and marked it as the default shell. I now get this error immediately after logging in:

"Cannot execute KDE: No such file or directory"

Slackware then sends me back to the login prompt. I would like to know how I could boot Linux in bash (or any basic shell) so that I could at least get logged in, and figure out what is wrong.

Thank you very much for your help,
Joel

You can edit /etc/inittab and change the runlevel to 3. This will boot you into console mode.
