I'm using Mandrake 9.0 & the Gnome desktop.

When I click on the Trash icon, my cpu useage goes through the roof & it seems to be searching for something.

I've tried logging on as root & I've deleted the trash file for that user & then created a new trash file. After that when I'm back as user the trash file is empty, I click on the icon & everything is fine.

However, as soon as I delete a file to the trash, if I click on the trash icon I end up with the same problem.

Any ideas? BTW, I'm very new to the Linux world......
