Hi im trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.1 on a compaq prosignia 150 mhz with 80 Mb of memory.
However when i start the install it runs extremely slow and says i only have 16 mb of memory.
I found out you have to insert your memory in the kernel with mem=80M but! when i do this it gives kernel panic messages
Saying it was unable to mount some sh**..
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!
Please i have looked everywhere and getting desperate..
Any help is welcome ANY! sad.gif

i looked around and found the fix! biggrin.gif
to let it work with 64 mb
type this:
QUOTE
linux text mem=exactmap mem=0x4000000@0x100000

just think of ur memory like if u have 128 substract 16 mb and u got 112 mb and 16mb make a hex code of both and u got 112@16
got it? cool.gif
