Greetings. I recently installed Slackware 9, and for a while, it worked well. But after starting kde and changing my display settings, I logged out of the window manager, and my monitor printed a message saying something like "Can't read 22k OHZ frequency." in this red box. The monitor isn't reading anything from the video card - it just goes black and prints one of those predetermined monitor messages. The screen wouldn't show up, but I was in the terminal, since I could start kde/reboot. The terminal normally looks fine, KDE runs, and after I reinstall, I can usually log out once before the monitor refuses to display anything. But when I logout, I can't read the terminal anymore. I have a Philips 109B, if that helps, and the horizontal and vertical refresh frequencies/resoluition/hz are all configured according to the specs on the monitor. Thanks,
Oobob
