hi after i installed linux mandrake 9.1 i startet it in this menu.
after some minutes i got the message Starting system logger and next was in i mode wich looks like msdos were i could login with the login name and password from the setup. but now i dont know how i could start the system does anyone know what i have to do?? plz help

i know my english sucks but plz help

You would have to log in and then type startx to get to the desktop.

If you want it to boot right into the desktop you can edit your /etc/inittab and change this line:

id:3:initdefault:

to

id:5:initdefault:

Then do

init 5

or

startx

When you installed 9.1, you were asked if you wanted to boot into GUI. I guess you said no. Or your video setting is wrong.
