hi! i'm very new to linux.. i just installed redhat 9.0 and i just dl a driver for my sound card. it's unlike in windows where i can click on a .exe or .com file i tried to read the readme file but i couldn't understand anything.. it says something like 'as a root type make install..' my question is which program to use or wat do i have to do to install my driver

What type of sound card do you have? Are you sure the driver is not already included in the linux kernel?

i have a creative audigy 2 sound card.. linux detected my sound card but when i click on the test sound... there was no sound coming fromt the speakers... thanx.. can u just tell how to install those files...
ohhh by the way how do i access my root folder??? thanx
