Well i'm having troubles installing xwindows on my laptop. Its running RedHat 7.3.
I have a Compaq EVO800c.

The problem is when I start up X it is displayed quite odd. There seems to be lines through everything so that i can hardly make out anything. any suggestions to the cause of this??? I tried many different combinations of sync rates and adapters, but everything seems to be causing the same problem. any help would be appreciated!! i want to use my lappy:(

When I have a problem with X, I first try the video driver vesa. Edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file and find the Display Driver and change it to vesa and see what happens.
