i have been following joeys dns guide and i stumbld to this. it sais that if i rename any of his files like yourdomain.com i have to make the changes in named.conf. but for 1.1.10.in-addr.arpa.zone there is nothing specified in named.conf. How do i add it to named.conf ? Would the following be right ?

zone "1.1.10.in-addr.arpa" {
type master;
file "127.0.0";
};
Also named.conf specifies its files in /pz directory, while the tut sais i just extract the files to named dir.
So is it right to change to directory "/var/named"; ?

thnx a lot

Hi,

You will have to put the zone files wherever named.conf lists them. (You can always change the directory in named.conf to whatever you want)

As for the entry it would be:

zone "1.1.10.in-addr.arpa" {
type master;
file "1.1.10.in-addr.arpa.zone";
};

What distribution/version of linux are you running?
