Is Sendmail a SMTP and POP server, or strictly SMTP?

So I guess now my next question is, if Sendmail is the "industry-standard" SMTP, what is available for POP?

I will be running either Slackware or Mandrake (Both 9.0)

With mandrake you can install the imap rpm package and then configure /etc/xinetd.d/ipop3 not sure about slackware
