I'm not sure just what to do to correct this problem. If anybody out there has had this problem or knows of a way to get me on the right track PLEASE help if you would. Thank you very much.

pango is on the mankdrake install disks ... the version on my mandrake 9.1 install is:

pango-1.2.1-1mdk

to see if you have it installed already, use the command:

rpm -qa | grep pango

.... if you don't, (and if you have setup urpmi) use the command:

urpmi --list | grep pango

to see if it is available to install .... and to install use:

urpmi pango

I would not build gnome packages from source...they will not be upgraded in the future by urpmi...
