hi i am a new linux mandrake user and i just installed the new mandrake 9.1
and i am havinfg some sound problems... i get no sound...
i tried changeing the drivers and messing around with the sound system,
i checked off the box which says " Star aRts soundserver on kde "
when i did this i got a pop-up which stated....

soundserver info message:
error while initializing the sound driver :
device/dev/dsp can't be opened (no such file or directory)
the sound server will continue using the null output device

when i put back on the aRts at startup i get the message and i am still with out sound ...
i run a SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator and it is onboard
it is also a module snd-intel8x0

thank you...
