My friend is giving me an old Dell 133mhz laptop & I was thinking of installing Linux on it as sole OS. I dont have the complete stats on the notebook yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a distro that has a small installation & is fairly easy to use because I'm still a newb. I'm only familiar with Mandrake @ this time. Also anyone know how to configure a laptop modem? Any suggestions appreciated.

I have an old P150mhz laptop and I find that windows 95/98 actually runs better than linux on it.

It might be worth your time if you werent planning on installing X though.

You might want to try VectorLinux. It is based on Slackware .... but much easier to install. All the packages are compiled specifically for pentium (i586), and it is supposed to be a good laptop distro.
