Hi, I am using slackware 9 and by default I had the startx command load into gnome, but now I also want to try out kde. How do I go about loading into kde?

Does slackware have the switchdesk program? If so I think you can simply run:

switchdesk-kde

Otherwise you'll have to edit /home/username/.xinitrc or /home/username/Xclients-default and place the following in the file:

exec startkde
