On my laptop, where is installed Linux Mate, I cannot get the rights of superuser running the command su. I don't get it, because on the other laptop I have, which runs Debian, this issue just doesn't exist. Runnig the terminal on Mate, every time I digit the root password it seems that I digit the wrong password. Every time, always. Then I run the sudo bash command and I find myself root. I ask: why the su command does not work? Why?
