I am running Red Hat 9.0 and need to change my IP address with out re-installing. I tryed using the "setup" command which leads me to "netconf" but the new address I enter does not seem to take.

Is there a file that I can edit to force this to change?

Is this for your ethernet card? If so just run ifconfig <device> <ip>

example:

ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.1

etc.
