I just hooked up a CyberPower 325SL to my linux box. The UPS works fine and all that, but when I cut the power out powerd doesn't come up with the powerfail message (as in /etc/inittab). The UPS is through the serial port on the back of the comp, and it says it calls up powerd when it sees the voltage going down, so I thought maybe it meant towards the end of the 10 minutes of battery time.

Thoughts?

I've never set up linux with a UPS and don't really know the first thing about how it all works but a quick search turned up this:

http://dollar.biz.uiowa.edu/powstatd/

Apparently that software was written specifically for your make UPS.
