I just installed Red Hat 8 and GDM keeps crashing. It gives me the following message:

"Server autherization directory (/var/ServerAuthDir) is set to /var/gdm but is not owned by user gdm and group gdm. Please correct the ownership or gdm cofiguration /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and restart gdm."

This message is popping up about once a minute.
Thank you in advance for any and all help you are able to provide.

Check the permissions of /var/gdm and /var/Server/AuthDir and if they are not set to gdm/gdm then change it.

chown gdm.gdm directoryname
