i was reading in my linux book on how to change the kernel so that it knows what processor you have, which could result in making linux go faster, if it thinks you have a smaller one anyways.

anyways, i tried to do it how the book said, but there is nothing in the file where the book's kernal code is. eh? i found out where my kernel is, but i dont know how to do this.

thanks in advance!
