I have been trying to log on as superuser and when password comes up it wont accept any input. if i just hit enter it says authentication failed.

What distribution/version are you running?
Passwords entered at the command line are not echoed. You have to type them in the blind. |

What distribution/version are you running? Passwords entered at the command line are not echoed. You have to type them in the blind. I SLOWLY typed in my password blind and it let me change to su thanks running fedora 21 reason I was in shell was cant update anything it always hangs and then just reboots as before no updates. |

I SLOWLY typed in my password blind and it let me change to su thanks running fedora 21 reason I was in shell was cant update anything it always hangs and then just reboots as before no updates. Hmmm this has happened to me, but I had a cron job constantly eating up the disk space. Use df -h and see if it provides anything concerning -------------------- Andi Zhobe
