Hi there, I'm VERY new to Linux. Thanks in advance for your help and your patience.

I wanted to ask: am I able to install AMD drivers on a Sony Vaio laptop running Linux Mint? I'm running Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64-bit and my graphics card is an AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530/4570/545v.

A friend (he's a programmer) tried to help me install them manually (they don't appear in the driver manager as available drivers) but it screwed up my laptop.

Oh and the reason I want to try and install them is that a game I was trying to run (from Steam) apparently couldn't run with the current drivers, and I assume if it happened with this game, it'll happen with others. And I really don't want to just go back to Windows.

Thanks again, in advance, for any help you can provide.
