I have a 1tb drive that works fine in windows.... but it will not show up in the in the linux install. But all my other drives and partitions show up in the linux install?

(and I have tried ntfs and just a unformulated drive)

Internal or external drive?

What linux distribution / version are you running? The mainstream distributions usually install ntfs-3g by default so that should not be an issue. If it is an internal drive then it might not be automatically mounted and requires a manual entry in your /etc/fstab file.

Post the output of the command
lsblk
