I need help creating a linux distro. It will load an initramfs which should start a graphical jar application with external libraries. This is all the distro does: run that one app. My hope is to hava the whole thing just run as initramfs. Is this possible and if so how would i setup x?

Another approach would be to run a minimal system from RAM. Check out the init script of the initrd of SystemRescueCD. It is well documented and given you have enough ram should not be a problem running your application.
