I am looking over documentation for several different distributions of Linux. I will be needing to do an audit (manual, not using Linux audit) of the administration and os security best practices.
My confusion is that my firm uses a couple of the different distributions and generally the high level audit items are the same. Does the same audit plan pertain to each type or are there some
known security concerns in one that is different from another? Is it mostly just that the methods that the administrator will use to get the information I need will be different for each type?
