My pc died and I assembled a new one. Now on the new PC I am using a USB to boot xubuntu without installing. Then I connected the old HDD from the PC that died. Now I want to copy the files from the old HDD to a seperate HDD then delete the old drive for a fresh xubuntu install.

The problem is I cannot copy the files from the old HDD. Permission denied. Now I have the root password. Just no place to insert it.

Gksudo nautilus is not working. Not coming up with anything.

Can anyone help me out?
