I'm trying to use Ubuntu 14.04.1 64-bit and hopefully install it, but when I boot the live the session from usb using Universal USB Installer, the keyboard and mouse both stop working, the Numlock light also turns off. I'm using Logitech K120 keyboard with the mouse that came with it, since Ubuntu didn't work i booted back into Windows 7 and tried booting Crunchbang instead, and this time it gave me a Error code of -32 and something about USB ports. I'm a Linux noob so please be patient with me, and yes i've looked around but nothing has worked. I have an old laptop that boots crunchbang and ubuntu just fine.

Make sure that legacy mode is enabled in the BiOS. This enables USB before the OS is running.
