I'm trying to get my Kindle 4 to display custom screensavers, and to that end I'm feeding it commands through PuTTY. I found the commands I need, but they aren't separated into lines, and I can't get the author to message me back. I'm unfamiliar with all things Linux, so I was hoping someone here could help me.

This is the original, jumbled mess:

mntroot rw mkdir /mnt/us/screensaver mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/base-mmc mv mnt/base-mmc/opt/amazon/screen_saver/600800 ln -sfn /mnt/us/screensaver /mnt/base-mmc/opt/amazon/screen_saver/600800 mnt/base-mmc/etc/init.d/framework stop mv /var/local/adunits /var/local/adunits.bkp touch /var/local/adunits mnt/base-mmc/etc/init.d/framework start

And this is MY attempt at separating the lines:

mntroot rw
mkdir /mnt/us/screensaver
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/base-mmc
mv mnt/base-mmc/opt/amazon/screen_saver/600800
ln -sfn /mnt/us/screensaver /mnt/base-mmc/opt/amazon/screen_saver/600800 mnt/base-mmc/etc/init.d/framework stop
mv /var/local/adunits /var/local/adunits.bkp
touch /var/local/adunits mnt/base-mmc/etc/init.d/framework start

The 4th line doesn't look right to me. From what I can gather from looking at similar stuff, "mv" seems to be a rename command, that's used like, "mv" "thing you want to rename" "name you want it to have", like in the 6th line, but the 4th is missing the last part, which leads me to believe that this whole thing might not have been posted complete or in the right order. If that's the case, maybe you could extrapolate and figure out what it's supposed to look like? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this and/or post a reply.

It is possible the 4th line is actually
mv mnt/base-mmc/opt/amazon/screen_saver /600800

How did you find the commands and how are you viewing them?
